B.C. First Nation looks to harness energy from the earth’s core

It’s a natural energy source that most people are familiar with every time they slide into a steamy hot spring. Such pools, which have been used for bathing since paleolithic times, are heated by geothermal energy that ascends from the earth’s core toward the earth’s surface. And now two British Columbia First Nations are hoping to harness that ancient power to create a more resilient and diversified economy for a region that is struggling with a long-depressed natural gas industry.
